It Began with a Montessori Mom & a Problem
The year was 2021, and Liliana faced the challenges of motherhood head-on. Handwashing her two-year-old daughter, Makenna, turned into a daily ordeal, involving lifting Makenna to the sink, juggling a bulky step stool, using numerous water wipes, and occasionally skipping the task altogether.
Liliana sought a solution to ease the challenges and enhance the joy of early motherhood.
DIY to the Rescue
Liliana built a DIY child-sized sink that brought Makenna great pride and joy in her newfound independence and gave Liliana a much-needed break. However, new challenges arose, such as water changes requiring multiple spill-prone trips to the kitchen sink.
Liliana decided to experiment with new designs to make the upkeep work seamless.
No Skills, No Problem
Determined, yet lacking engineering and tool experience, Liliana sought advice from Home Depot experts and watched countless YouTube tutorials.
Along the way, she learned to use a variety of tools, such as a reciprocating saw, electric hot knife, CAD drawing software, and her favorite, the CNC router.
Build, Test, and Repeat
Over time, a project that was once fueled by curiosity snowballed into something much bigger: an innovative portable sink for users of all ages. Liliana began building prototypes, collecting feedback from friends and strangers alike, and refining the design.
Liliana persistently repeated this cycle until she found the perfect balance of functionality, versatility & portability.
